Real estate is a team sport. – John Carney
It doesn’t take much imagination to figure out why Real Estate is a team sport, as John Carney points out. If there is any question about if you could buy or sell property alone, let me just a list some of the key players involved:
- Your Mom (more often than you’d think…)
- The other involved party
- Your Real Estate Agent
- The other party’s Real Estate Agent
- Real Estate Agent’s Broker (and the other party’s broker)
- Your lawyer
- Home inspector
- Bank appraiser
- Insurance agent (home insurance)
- Mortgage broker
I could go on, but you get the point!
All of these individuals work together to help make your sale successful. While it can be frustrating at times when the role of these individuals prohibits the purchase of your new home, but on the bright side, they are there to protect you. To make sure you are making a sound purchase.
For home sellers, it can be particularly frustrating and sometimes even costly when issues come up that you were not aware of and need to be fixed. However, there is a bright side to this as well as becoming aware of them can allow you to avoid future legal issues in the future. If you did your homework when purchasing your property, you should be okay though!
What would this article be without adding in the old cliche, “There is No ‘I’ in Team!”
What do you think?
